General Pro Player Discussions / Re: Camelot: General Tennis Chat

I find it all a little sad general.  Obviously there were those that didn't pay attention to the Castle ideal and the way of the warrior Castle introduction.  It should be required reading for posting in the Castle. Then posting in the Castle should naturally follow this guide.  Bickering over players is for other threads like MTF GM cesspool Ruins.

I don't like social media like Twitter/Facebook.  Maybe I'm a dinosaur.  I am not getting younger.  My folks are hanging in there at an advanced age.  My mom is a big Nadal fan; my step-dad is a Federer fan, but we are all able to get along, because we all know reasonable limits and when to stop discussions from the player fan point of view. :).  We are quite busy with work, and family, trying to get our kids prepared for life in the real world, helping them where we can, but not over-protecting them.

When I have a little time, (not a  whole lot these days), I like to talk tennis with reasonable people.  It's a big world and there are lots of interesting people.  It would be nice to pull up a chair with some of them like you and others I have "met" online.  But others I wouldn't meet in daylight in a room full of people.  I don't have time or desire to deal with insanity and extreme aggression.

Regards,
masterclass

Completely agree general.  I mean I remember he was a loose cannon from those days at T4U.  But Mimi invited me, you were there, some others, I thought I would give it a chance.  But yeah, he went ballistic on one of those users that disagreed with him.  From what I could see you told him to calm down.  And then he went ballistic on you, then he started demodding everyone.  He demodded me even though I missed all the excitement, saying absolutely nothing, apparently for not answering his PMs.  Strange, I thought I did. But anyway, I said I would be at the forum intermittently, so...   After he did all this, I posted a short statement in MTF Castle, saying that doing all that  it looked like he was giving himself a permanent ban by destroying his own forum.  Then he banned me.  This after saying he wasn't going to ban anyone.

Anyway General, he isn't worth talking about other than a person to stay away from.  A forum has to be run by a calmer person with the forum's interests at heart, not his own.  On a tennis forum, nobody is going to agree on everything. There are bound to be some conflicts that need to be resolved in a calm manner.  You don't get more posters by pissing off a whole host of interested and good posters. He actually wasted a golden opportunity. Eh, his loss.

More later...

Regards,
masterclass

Well, MTF did it again.  General Clay Death called Boss a clown and got a personal attack infraction and a permanent ban for accumulation of infractions.

I tried to reason with TViolation, but it did no good. Mimi also made a statement for them to come to their sensest.  In principle, I don't think anyone should be given a permanent ban for accumulation of minor infractions, no matter how many times it occurs.

In the real world, it would be like giving life imprisonment or the death penalty for insulting the town fool over and over again.

There should be a maximum ban time for each category of infractions by severity that gets invoked once a certain amount of infractions is exceeded for the category.  A personal attack is considered a relatively minor infraction.  The maximum ban time should be no more than a month whether you do it 10 times or 100.

Also, once General Clay Death returned from his first perma-ban, and served his probation period successfully, they should have automatically wiped out all of his minor infractions that had occurred over 2 years before and more.  It seems they didn't.

General it's MTF's loss.  I think the forum is close to dying anyway.  When the Big 3 retire, it will be like a ghost town.

Respectfully,
masterclass

Awesome general. Thanks.  Keep them coming.

Here some pics I found in the last couple of days... of Rafa enjoying a rest on different grass and a Coca-Cola in Mallorca...  :)

it is our legendary thread general.

it would not be success that it has become without you.

You are too kind my friend.  :)

Meanwhile the thread is had a few more pages posted since Federer put #19 in the bag today.
Of course the bandwagon is getting crowded now that he is close to completing the Quest.
But it took real foresight to say it 5 years ago.

If he doesn't get hurt, the US Open is looking excellent for getting #20.  He still looks as hungry as ever after all these years.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words General.

Roger already has 18 majors in the bag.

Tomorrow he goes for major #19 and title #93 in the Wimbledon final against Cilic

I predict  your legendary thread Mother of All Quests: 20 slams and 100 titles thread will soon be fired up again.  :)

It's incredible General. After this RAFA can ride into the sunset without a care.
But he will probably keep playing as long as he can. The money is just too good.
Each one of these victories probably adds another 100 million in the bank if not more.

Sorry I haven't been posting lately anywhere until now.  I've been in the hospital again for a few days.
This time I had to have classic open surgery to take my gallbladder out.
It was in bad condition, so they couldn't finish the normally easier laparoscopic procedure, so now I have a lengthy cut across my abdomen with about 15- 20 metal staple stitches.  Some pain and it's difficult to move, but in 14 days I will have those stitches out and it should be better.  Then a few weeks to recover strength and a special diet.

I hope you are doing well.

Best Regards,

Affirmative General.

He has to stay healthy and motivated.

With Murray and Djokovic in disarray, he has the clear opportunity to strike.

We don't know if and when they will come back to form or not, but we know what will happen if they don't.

Clay Warrior and the Swiss Assassin could capture everything in sight.

Well maybe they will leave some crumbs for the others... They can't play every tournament under the sun.

Halle Title #9 and career title #92 in the bag for Roger Federer after ruthlessly schooling young #NextGen star Alex Zverev.

Congrats to all his fans and commiserations to Zverev supporters.

The old man continues to roll toward an 8th Wimbledon title and major #19.  Who can stop him General?

But he probably should have already had 8 & 20 as he left Wimbledon 2014 and USO 2015 on the table as well as others when he was a younger man.

I'm not totally happy with the Swiss Assassin.

Clay Warrior got it done.  He was unchallenged at Roland Garros and took his 10th without looking back.

Congratulations to Rafael and his team on the 10th French Open title!

FYI, I'm still not entirely happy with Clay Warrior.

For one, he left far more on the table than he should have.

Let us see what happens the rest of the year.

Stan had his day, but was not God enough for Clay Warrior on a mission to pass Sampras.  Still a good tournament for Stan the Man.

Well General, looks like we called it again way back in the beginning of May.

Stanimal in the final with Clay Warrior.

People should just come to Camelot to know what is going on, no?

Everyone is looking at Rafa, Novak, Andy, and even Roger at the French Open this year.

But one simply cannot ignore Stan.  He is quite capable of playing immense tennis on clay as he has shown.

He is my dark horse to take RG.  Del Potro could also be dangerous by the time RG rolls around.

Respectfully,
masterclass
